Edvard Hagerup Grieg (June 15, 1843 – September 4, 1907) was a Norwegian composer and pianist. His music was influenced by Norwegian folk music.

Grieg is one of the most well-known Romantic-era musicians. His most famous work is his incidental music for the play Peer Gynt, particularly the section titled "In the Hall of the Mountain King".
